Is It Easy to Get Around Disney Fro the Caribbean Resort
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is 1 of Disney's 4 moderate resorts located on Walt Disney World property. If you're in the mood for some Caribbean vibes, this might be the place to stay.
Here's what you need to know about the resort.
Quick Review
Summary
Thanks to the Skyliner, upgraded onsite food options, and the addition of Riviera Resort (with its great food options), this resort is a fantastic bang for the buck, though people with a car will find it even easier to manage.

Overview
Resort category:Moderate
Resort area: Epcot
Address & Phone Number
1114 Cayman Way
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-8411
(407) 934-3400
Found in the Epcot resort area, Caribbean Beach consists of vibrant colors, theming, and an overall tropical feel. There are even five "islands" surrounding the beautiful Barefoot Bay, where room buildings are located. They include: Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad, and Aruba.
The main "port of entry" is called Old Port Royale, where most of the main services are located, like check-in, concierge services, hotel amenities, dining, and the Calypso Trading Post gift shop.

And of course, we can't forget the beaches. Swimming is not allowed in the lakes, but just like the real Caribbean, you'll find several beachy areas spread throughout the resort where you can relax or take in a sunset.
Guest Rooms And Bathrooms
The guest rooms and bathrooms at Caribbean Beach are perfectly themed to the tropics and depending on which room you select, they will either sleep 2, 4, or 5 individuals.
Each room comes with the normal amenities, including a hairdryer, TV, free WiFi service, a coffee maker, a telephone, an in-room safe, an iron and ironing board, and a beverage cooler.

As far as storage goes, all the guest rooms have plenty of drawers for items, along with closets. However, unlike many other Disney Resort hotel rooms, there isn't space underneath the beds for suitcases to hide.

There are also plenty of outlets for devices that need charging, which, of course, is always a must.
Now, let's dive into the different sections and rooms that are available.

Standard and Preferred Rooms
There are 8 types of rooms to choose from:
- Standard
- Preferred
- Standard – 5th Sleeper
- Preferred – 5th Sleeper
- Water or Pool View
- Water or Pool View – 5th Sleeper
- Pirate Water View
- Pirate Standard View
Important Note: We know that Disney is planning to discontinue the Pirate rooms in 2023, and we do expect that whatever the changeover brings that at that time, Disney will incorporate in the refurbishment some newer elements found at other resorts, such as platform beds and USB charging stations. We will update with additional details when it becomes available.

If you're looking for a non-pirate room, there are several Standard and Preferred guest rooms to choose from.
Be warned that Preferred Rooms cost more, same if you're paying for a room with a Pool or Water View.
In addition to Preferred or Standard Location and Pool or Water View options, Caribbean Beach also offers a "5th Sleepers" category for families of 5.

A room that is categorized as a 5th Sleeper will have a small, child sized pull down bed. This bed will not fit a standard adult.
As for the bathrooms, in all room types the sink/vanity area is separate from the split shower/tub.
There are also doors that can be closed for privacy between the bathroom and bedroom areas.
Pirate Rooms (Discontinued beginning in 2023)
The Pirate-themed rooms are exactly the same size as the Standard and Preferred rooms. These rooms, however, only have double sized beds and, as their name implies, are over-the-top pirate-themed.

Not only is your bed literally a pirate ship, but there are crates for drawers, barrels serve as nightstands, a pirate curtain for privacy between the bathroom and beds, and so much more.
These cost more than just your standard-themed room, but they're definitely fun and kids will love them.
Pirate rooms come with either Standard or Water views.

Note: There are also both wheelchair and hearing accessible rooms available in each category that include a roll-in shower and visual alarms.

Checking In And Out
When it comes to checking in and out, you have a few options: at the front desk, online through the official Walt Disney World website, or via the My Disney Experience app.
The lobby is located in the main building, aka Old Port Royale. Even though the front desk is there to assist guests, especially with checking in and checking out, all Disney World Resort guests are encouraged to check-in online or by using MDE.

- Checking-In: The official check-in time for Caribbean Beach Resort is 3:00 pm, although sometimes rooms may be available sooner than that. After you check in online or using the app, you'll receive a room-ready notification via text. You can then use your MagicBand or MDE's digital key feature to unlock your room door.
- Checking-Out: Check-out time is 11:00 am. Currently, guests will automatically be checked out of their rooms. But, if you have unresolved charges to your hotel folio, you'll need to visit the front desk.
Note: Guests also have the option of to chat virtually with resort Cast Members via MDE for any assistance.

The pickup and dropoff location for Mears Connect (which is the replacement for Magical Express) and the Old Port Royale bus stop are also right outside the main lobby, along with luggage storage for those who have checked out or are waiting to check in.

Note: Resort Airline Check-In and Magical Express are no longer available.
